Meet Meliora

A precision digital therapeutic for major depressive disorder — adaptive cognitive training, wrapped in an immersive narrative people actually want to return to.

What it is

Treatment, disguised as a game

Meliora pairs adaptive cognitive training with an immersive narrative to deliver an evidence-led intervention for depression — not gamified wellness.

It targets the cognitive deficits and fronto-parietal hypoactivity that medication and talk therapy don't directly address. Each session trains attention, working memory and cognitive control through play, while the story keeps people engaged long enough for treatment to take hold.

  • Adaptive difficulty driven by in-session performance
  • Narrative built to sustain engagement and adherence
  • Designed as a clinical treatment, not a wellness app

Investigational — not yet cleared by regulators.

Inside Meliora

Three views of the same system

An engine that meets each patient where they are

Meliora continuously reads in-session performance — accuracy, reaction time, error patterns — and recalibrates difficulty to keep training in the optimal challenge zone: hard enough to drive change, never so hard that people disengage.

The training tasks are designed to exercise attention, working memory and cognitive control: the executive functions most disrupted in depression. Because the adaptation is personalized, two patients can play the same chapter and follow entirely different difficulty curves.

A typical session

How a session works

1

Check in

A brief calibration reads where you are today, setting the starting difficulty for the session ahead.

2

Play & train

You progress through the story while the engine adapts each task in real time to keep you in the optimal zone.

3

Consolidate

Sessions end on a high point and feed the next, building a consistent, adherent treatment rhythm over weeks.

Common questions

About Meliora

No. Meliora is being developed as a treatment that can complement existing care by targeting cognitive symptoms that medication and talk therapy don't directly address. Care decisions should always be made with a qualified clinician.
Meliora is designed as a clinical intervention with a defined mechanism, a structured treatment arc, and a clinical evidence and regulatory pathway — not a general wellness or commercial brain-training product.
An adaptive engine reads in-session performance and recalibrates task difficulty in real time, so the level of challenge is continuously tuned to each individual rather than fixed in advance.
It is being developed for adults with major depressive disorder. Eligibility, indications and access will be defined as the clinical and regulatory program progresses.
Meliora is investigational and not yet cleared by regulators. To follow progress or discuss clinical and research partnerships, please get in touch.
