A precision digital therapeutic for major depressive disorder — adaptive cognitive training, wrapped in an immersive narrative people actually want to return to.
What it is
Meliora pairs adaptive cognitive training with an immersive narrative to deliver an evidence-led intervention for depression — not gamified wellness.
It targets the cognitive deficits and fronto-parietal hypoactivity that medication and talk therapy don't directly address. Each session trains attention, working memory and cognitive control through play, while the story keeps people engaged long enough for treatment to take hold.

Inside Meliora
Meliora continuously reads in-session performance — accuracy, reaction time, error patterns — and recalibrates difficulty to keep training in the optimal challenge zone: hard enough to drive change, never so hard that people disengage.
The training tasks are designed to exercise attention, working memory and cognitive control: the executive functions most disrupted in depression. Because the adaptation is personalized, two patients can play the same chapter and follow entirely different difficulty curves.
Adherence is where most digital interventions fail. Meliora wraps its clinical mechanics inside an immersive narrative with characters, world and progression — so returning each day feels like continuing a game, not completing a chore.
Pacing, rewards and story beats are tuned to reinforce the treatment schedule rather than compete with it. The result is a therapeutic dose delivered through something people genuinely want to play.
Meliora is being developed as a prescribable, evidence-based treatment that can complement — not replace — existing care. Baseline profiling and ongoing in-game measures are designed to give clinicians a structured view of cognitive and symptom change over time.
Soihtu DTx is pursuing the clinical evidence and regulatory pathway required for use in care settings.

A typical session
A brief calibration reads where you are today, setting the starting difficulty for the session ahead.
You progress through the story while the engine adapts each task in real time to keep you in the optimal zone.
Sessions end on a high point and feed the next, building a consistent, adherent treatment rhythm over weeks.
